Do you charge mileage fees?

All professional RV rental agencies charge mileage fees. Why? Because every mile driven has a real cost of depreciation. Without them, the renter driving locally, for a week, pays the same as the renter driving to a California for a week. The former is effectively subsidizing the latter!

Our fees are as follows: 300 miles/day included then $.39/mile afterward.

How to calculate excess mileage fees?

Over 90% of our renters pay zero to small mileage fees.

We include a generous 300 miles per day (not per night) in the price of the rental. This is 50% more than the average mileage included by our competitors and allows for an average of around 5-7 hours driving each day.

Once you exceed 300m miles/day, we do charge excess mileage fees of $.39/mile for the simple reason that depreciation of the vehicle is a real expense item. We factor that into our base pricing since most renters do not wish to spend more than a few hours each day driving.

Moreover, if we do not charge excess mileage fees, a renter who stays locally for say, a week is effectively subsidizing the renter who traveled 3,000 miles in a week. In our opinion, that is not fair on the local renter.

Our tiered pricing, therefore, is designed to discourage those renters who want to travel to California and back in a week!

Do you charge Generator fees?

Our generator fees include a generous 5 hours/day, following which generator use is charged at $3.00/hour.

For Example:
3 night/4 day trip = 20 hours included

If you use 25 hours, you will be charged an additional $15.00
