If you own an RV, you already know the joy of hitting the open road — but you also know the headache of figuring out where to park that thing when you’re not using it. HOA rules, neighborhood complaints, and limited driveway space make keeping an RV at home a non-starter for a lot of owners. That’s where dedicated RV storage in Tampa comes in. Finding the right facility isn’t just about a place to park — it’s about protecting a major investment from Florida’s unique climate challenges while keeping your rig accessible when the travel bug hits.
Storing an RV in Tampa isn’t the same as storing one in, say, Colorado or Michigan. Florida throws a completely different set of challenges at your rig, and if you’re not thinking about them, you could end up with costly damage.
Heat and UV exposure are the big ones. Tampa sees intense sun nearly year-round, and prolonged UV exposure breaks down roof sealants, fades exterior graphics, dries out rubber seals, and cracks dashboards. The combination of heat and humidity also creates the perfect environment for mold and mildew to take hold inside your RV — especially if it’s sitting closed up for weeks at a time without ventilation.
Then there’s hurricane season. From June through November, Tampa-area RV owners need to think about wind, flying debris, and flooding. A facility that takes storm prep seriously — with proper drainage, secure tie-down options, and a plan for severe weather — makes a real difference when a named storm starts tracking toward the Gulf Coast.
The bottom line: storing an RV in Florida demands more thought than just finding an empty lot. The facility you choose should understand these local conditions and take steps to mitigate them.
Not all storage lots are created equal. Before you sign an agreement anywhere, here are the things worth checking.
Security should be at the top of your list. Look for gated access, surveillance cameras, and good lighting. You’re leaving behind a vehicle that could be worth anywhere from $30,000 to $300,000 — you want to know it’s being watched. Access hours matter too, especially if you like to head out early on a Friday or return late on a Sunday. Some facilities lock you into rigid business hours, which can be a real pain when you’re trying to get on the road.
Think about the actual space you’re getting. Is it wide enough to maneuver comfortably? Can you pull in and out without threading a needle between other rigs? And consider whether you want outdoor, covered, or enclosed storage — each comes at a different price point and level of protection.
Finally, check reviews and reputation. A family-run operation with a track record of taking care of customers is going to treat your RV very differently than a faceless national chain that manages hundreds of lots remotely.
At Journey USA RV, we’ve been in the RV business since 2017, and storage has always been a core part of what we do. Our 2.3-acre secure facility sits right on US Highway 92 in Tampa, giving you easy access from I-4, I-75, and the greater Tampa Bay area.
We keep things simple and flexible. Storage is month-to-month — no long-term contracts locking you in. You give us 30 days’ notice when you’re ready to move on, and that’s it. We accept all vehicle types, not just RVs. Boats, trailers, trucks, fifth wheels — if it fits, we’ll store it.
Access is available 24/7 via our Bluetooth-enabled gate — no office hours to work around. Whether you’re heading out before sunrise or returning late on a Sunday, your rig is accessible whenever you need it.
What really sets us apart is that we’re a family-owned and operated business. When you call us, you’re talking to the people who actually run the facility — not a call center. My dad Bill and I are hands-on every day, and we treat every vehicle on our lot like it belongs to someone we know, because in a lot of cases, it does.
We also offer RV consignment for owners who want to earn income from their RV while it’s stored with us, plus a full in-house repair shop staffed by a mechanic with over a decade of RV-specific experience. That means if your rig needs work before or after a trip, you don’t have to haul it somewhere else.
And if you’re looking to rent rather than store, you can always browse our available rentals — we deliver nationwide.
RV storage pricing in the Tampa area varies quite a bit depending on what you’re looking for. Outdoor uncovered lots tend to be the most affordable option, while covered and enclosed storage commands a premium. The size of your vehicle matters too — a 22-foot travel trailer takes up a lot less space than a 40-foot Class A motorhome.
At Journey USA RV, our monthly storage rates are based on the length of your vehicle: up to 30 feet runs $145/month, 30–35 feet is $155/month, 36–40 feet is $175/month, 41–45 feet is $195/month, and 46 feet and over is $225/month. All rates are plus tax. No hidden fees, no after-hours access charges — your 24/7 gate access is included.

Currently, our facility offers outdoor storage on a secure, gated lot. We’re always evaluating expansion options, so give us a call to ask about current availability and what’s coming.
Yes. Journey USA RV does not provide insurance coverage for stored vehicles. You’re required to carry your own policy — and honestly, you should have one regardless of where you store. We’ll ask for proof of insurance when you move in.

Nope. Everything is month-to-month. Either party can terminate with 30 days’ written notice. We believe in earning your business every month, not locking you into something you can’t get out of.
